A New Jeep Wrangler to Get to Know, with a New Engine Under the Hood to Test Drive

Any fan of the Jeep Wrangler will tell you - 2018 is a big, big year for this beloved SUV. While still available with either two doors or four and still styled in the same, familiar convertible style, there's a lot that's new about the Wrangler this year, including the way it's powered.

2018 actually introduced the world to a whole new generation of Jeep Wrangler, a very rare occurrence in the history of this sought-after model. The new Wrangler is larger than it previously was, including being longer, wider and taller, and it features upgraded interior materials that up the ante when it comes to your overall comfort.

But, the biggest news by far for this new Wrangler is what's under the hood. While previous versions of this vehicle all came with one engine, the new model allows drivers to choose between two. Sure, it has the previously-standard, 3.6-liter V6 with 285 horsepower that we've come to expect over the years, but, now, it also allows you to opt for a turbocharged four-cylinder engine instead.

The new, optional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is rated for 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and it comes with the latest, innovative Jeep technology, a mild hybrid system called eTorque.

For more information about this new engine, the eTorque advantage, or to learn more about an upcoming, diesel engine option expected in the next year, let our team of Jeep experts answer all of your questions.
