Four Exciting, New Things to Know About the Redesigned 2019 Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 available at Floyd A. Megee Motor Company has always been a versatile, go-to choice for Delaware drivers looking for pickup truck style and strength in a light-duty, but still capable, model.

Available in either a quad cab or a crew cab, the Ram 1500 has gotten a major makeover for 2019, and we're excited to introduce it to you.

While there's a lot to know about the 2019 Ram 1500, we've narrowed it down to four of our favorite updates and upgrades for you. Read on to see some of the great new things you should know about the 2019 Ram 1500:

  1. A new engine system that lends a mild hybrid function to the truck. Not hybrid in the true sense of the word as in other models, this system is called "eTorque" by the engineers at Ram. It features a lithium battery that provides electric power to the engine's standard auto start / stop system, making it run smoother and giving it a little more power in quick bursts.
  2. Lighter overall weight, thanks to a new construction. With the use of high-grade steel, the 2019 Ram 1500 is now more than 200 pounds lighter than the previous model year.
  3. More power for towing and hauling. It may be lighter, but it's still strong. In fact, the 2019 Ram 1500 is stronger than ever, with an increase in both towing capacity and payload capacity.
  4. Larger from end to end, front to back. The 2019 Ram 1500 has grown several inches overall as well. This means the wheelbase is longer, and so is the backseat legroom and space available to your passengers.

With all of these great changes, longtime Ram 1500 fans will be happy to know that there are several carryover traits to be on the lookout for as well. The Ram signature spring-coil rear suspension is still there, giving drivers a smooth and even ride every time, and the high-end feel of materials and construction throughout the cabin is still the best around for a pickup truck in this class.
